What is "Internal Medicine"?Internists are Doctors for Adults. We deal with diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, gastrointestinal disease, cancer, high blood pressure, thyroid and other endocrine diseases, infectious diseases, geriatric medicine and much more.

We doctors of internal medicine are also known as “Internists” or “General Internists.” This should not be confused with “interns,” who are doctors in their first year of training after medical school. Nor are we the same as “general practitioners” (GPs), or “family physicians” (FPs) whose practices may include surgery obstetrics and pediatrics and whose training is not solely concentrated on adults.

Visit the links below for information about general wellness guidelines for adults. If your browser cannot access the javascript links on this page, please CLICK HERE to access our non-javascript site map. The site map will open in a new browser window.

Both Dr.’s Kohnen and Grauman are Board Certified Internists. Please see www.doctorsforadults.com to learn more about what we do. (The site will open in a new browser window.)
